Northern Lakes Canoe Weekend
Join us for a weekend in the Lake District to get back to basics looking at both your open water canoeing and white water paddling While We explore Ullswater, Bassenthwaite, and the River Derwent into Cockermouth. This weekend is aimed at those who would like to refine their canoe skills in various environments.
The Venue
The River Derwent is a true hidden gem for paddling in the Lake District offering a good mixture of G1+ rapids that are perfect for developing skills for moving water all whilst being surrounded by epic scenery. Starting in Bassenthwaite water we will explore under the shadow of Skiddaw before heading out of the lake and into the River Derwent.
Ullswater provides an excellent and long lake for canoe sailing, again, surrounded by astounding views including Helvellyn
Who is it for?
Whether tandem or solo this weekend is for all canoeists looking to explore new places and learn/refine their skills
We will base ourselves in Keswick and aim to paddle Bassenthwaite & the River Derwent on the first day before heading across the Ullswater on the second day, However, depending on the weather this may switch around to suit the best conditions for the locations.
